Kankakee, IL – Local McDonald’s Owner/Operator John Carnagio and his team will continue a long-standing holiday tradition Tuesday morning with a special Food for the Body & Spirit turkey giveaway at the Kankakee McDonald’s, 1780 E. Court St.
According to organizers, the event begins Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 8 a.m., when families in need can pick up free turkeys as part of a region-wide effort by Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana McDonald’s restaurants. The initiative marks 20 years of giving back to local communities during the holiday season.
Kankakee 1st Ward Alderman Michael Prude is expected to attend the event to show support and celebrate the spirit of local generosity.
This year, 16 McDonald’s locations are participating in the Food for the Body & Spirit program, collectively donating more than 6,400 turkeys to families across the region.
“Giving back to the community that supports us year-round is at the heart of what we do,” said Carnagio. “This event brings people together and helps make the holidays a little brighter for local families.”
Residents are encouraged to stop by the Court Street McDonald’s Tuesday morning to take part or share in the celebration of this meaningful community effort.
