San Angelo, Texas – San Angelo’s streak of dry, hot days may break Monday night as thunderstorms roll into the region, bringing possible gusty winds and scattered rainfall through at least Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop after 7 p.m. Monday, with gusts up to 25 mph from the south. The chance of storms increases to 50% by Tuesday evening, continuing intermittently through Wednesday night.

Monday and Tuesday will stay hot despite the storm threat, with highs near 97°F and 92°F respectively. Wind gusts and brief heavy downpours could impact local travel, particularly on U.S. Route 67 and around Tom Green County. Residents should secure outdoor items, avoid flooded roadways, and monitor alerts for lightning risks.

By Wednesday, temperatures will dip to the low 80s as showers persist, making it the first notable multi-day rain pattern in weeks. East winds between 10 and 15 mph may accompany the cooler shift.

More storms are possible into Thursday before drier, warmer air returns Friday. Rain chances taper to 20% by Thursday night, with sun and highs in the mid-90s expected for the weekend.
