Milwaukee, WI – Independence Day celebrations in Wisconsin may be affected by severe weather, particularly during fireworks hours. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a warning for possible thunderstorms on July 4th.

According to the NWS, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop in the afternoon, with the highest risk for severe weather between 5 PM and 9 PM, coinciding with many fireworks displays. The storms are anticipated to form west of Madison and may bring strong winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes.

Residents and event organizers are advised to monitor weather updates and be prepared for potential disruptions. The NWS stresses the importance of staying vigilant as the situation could change rapidly. As the evening progresses, storms are expected to weaken and move eastward, exiting over Lake Michigan by early morning on July 5th.

Ensuring safety during celebrations is paramount, and being aware of weather conditions will help in making informed decisions.
