Jefferson County, CO – Authorities are investigating a road rage shooting that left one person critically injured Saturday night along Highway 285 near Settlers Drive. Deputies responded around 7:00 p.m. on November 11, 2025, after reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a black SUV.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, responding units soon learned the crash stemmed from a road rage incident in which shots were fired. A passenger inside the SUV had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery and remains in critical but stable condition.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a second vehicle — described as a light-colored Subaru — traveling in the same direction as the SUV shortly before the shooting.
