Jackson, MS – Residents across Mississippi are being advised to prepare for patchy frost Sunday night into early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson. The forecast calls for temperatures dipping between 33°F and 37°F, bringing the potential for minor frost formation across much of the state.
According to the National Weather Service, the entire coverage area — including Jackson, Vicksburg, Greenwood, and Hattiesburg — will be under a Level 1 (Limited) frost risk. The agency warns that unprotected vegetation could experience minor damage as temperatures approach freezing.
The frost window extends from late Sunday night through early Monday morning, and forecasters urge residents to cover sensitive plants or bring them indoors to avoid damage. Outdoor gardeners and farmers should take note, as this could mark one of the first frost events of the season for central and northern Mississippi.
Temperatures are expected to rebound slightly Monday afternoon, but additional cold nights are possible as November begins.
