Omaha, NE – A warm and breezy Friday is in store for eastern Nebraska and western Iowa before cooler temperatures and rain arrive late Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s high in Omaha will reach 62°F under mostly sunny skies, with northwest winds up to 20 mph. The mild conditions will continue through Friday night before a shift toward cooler weather begins Saturday.

By Saturday, temperatures will drop, with a high of only 43°F and gusty winds up to 18 mph. Saturday night will be chilly, with lows dipping to 26°F. Sunday will bring a slight rebound in temperatures, reaching 52°F, but clouds will increase by the evening. Rain is expected to develop after midnight and continue into Monday.

Next week, rain chances increase, with steady showers likely Monday and Tuesday. Monday’s high will climb to 58°F, but rain and gusty winds will make for a damp start to March. Rain remains in the forecast through Tuesday night before temperatures cool again Wednesday.

Drivers should prepare for wet roads early next week, especially on major routes like I-80 through Omaha. Those with outdoor plans this weekend should enjoy Friday’s warmth before cooler air and rain return.
