According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, wildfire smoke from western fires is expected to reach the surface around 11 a.m. Monday. The smoke may reduce air quality across western Iowa and eastern Nebraska through early Tuesday. Those with asthma or heart conditions should stay indoors and limit physical activity outdoors.

[Wednesday, June 11] marks the hottest day of the week, with temperatures surging to 92°F under full sun. Winds could gust up to 20 mph by afternoon. A slight chance of overnight storms (after 1 a.m. Thursday) could offer temporary relief.

[Thursday, June 12] and [Friday, June 13] both carry 30–40% chances for thunderstorms, especially after 1 p.m. Thursday and into Friday evening. The NWS warns some storms may become strong, though specifics remain uncertain.
