Sioux Falls, South Dakota – Drivers and outdoor plans near the Minnesota-Iowa border could be disrupted Sunday as rain spreads northward along and east of Highway 60 by midday.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, dry and mild conditions today—Saturday—will give way to increasing rain chances across northwest Iowa and far southwest Minnesota starting Sunday afternoon. The coolest temps are expected near the Iowa border, with highs from 55 to 65°F and lows dipping into the 30s.

The weekend will rebound Monday with sunshine and warmer highs in the 60s to low 70s, though a brief chance of light rain may return late in the day. Breezy winds are expected to pick up Tuesday, especially in eastern areas, as another weak system moves through.

Residents along Highway 60 are advised to monitor conditions closely, especially those planning travel or outdoor activities on Sunday. Winds will remain light today but become more gusty by Tuesday, with speeds reaching up to 25 mph.

Rain chances taper early in the week, but more spring systems are possible. Stay tuned for updated alerts through Tuesday.
