Davenport, Iowa – Showers are set to increase Friday night across eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois, with scattered rain and isolated thunderstorms continuing through Sunday, especially east of the Mississippi River.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, rain chances will peak Saturday and Sunday, with the highest coverage expected in Illinois. Saturday brings a 20–40% chance of rain in Illinois, while Sunday holds a 20–30% chance. Nighttime rain potential drops to 15–25% by Sunday night. Severe weather is not expected, but isolated thunderstorms may develop.

Cities including Moline, Rock Island, and Galesburg should prepare for on-and-off rain Saturday into Sunday, with drier conditions likely returning Monday. In Iowa, areas like Davenport and Bettendorf will see lower rain chances but should still expect occasional showers.

Highs will stay mild and seasonable, ranging from the upper 50s Saturday to the upper 60s Monday. Overnight lows will hover in the 40s, so residents planning evening activities should dress accordingly. Rain could lead to slick roads at times—drivers are urged to slow down during any downpours and use headlights in reduced visibility.

Rain chances taper off Monday, but updates will continue if conditions change heading into next week.
