Quad Cities, IL – The region is bracing for one final unseasonably cold night, with temperatures dropping between 5 to 10°F. Wind chills could make it feel as low as -10°F before a warming trend begins this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, strengthening southerly winds will bring a gradual rise in temperatures starting Saturday. Highs will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s on Saturday before climbing to the 40s on Sunday. Overnight lows will also moderate, moving from the teens into the 20s and 30s.

Residents are advised to bundle up tonight, especially those heading outdoors, as frigid conditions could pose a risk of frostbite with prolonged exposure. However, the trend toward above-normal temperatures next week signals an early taste of spring for the region.

Stay updated with local forecasts as shifting wind patterns could influence temperatures in the coming days.
