Davenport, Iowa – Thunderstorms packing gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain could impact the Quad Cities area tonight as an unsettled weather pattern persists through Friday.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, scattered storms are expected to develop this evening with some potentially reaching severe levels. Temperatures will range from the low 50s overnight to near 80°F Thursday, fueling additional storm chances into the end of the workweek.
Residents across eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois—including Davenport, Moline, and Rock Island—should stay alert for strong evening storms that could down trees or briefly flood low-lying roads. While storm coverage will be hit or miss, wet pavement and reduced visibility may impact morning and evening commutes through Friday.
The best chance for drier conditions will arrive Saturday, with cooler highs in the low 60s and mostly sunny skies. Until then, emergency officials urge residents to secure outdoor items, monitor local alerts, and avoid driving through flooded streets.
Storms are expected to taper off Friday afternoon, but additional updates may be issued if new cells redevelop.
