Carter Lake, IA – A late-season spring storm will bring a mix of rain, snow, and strong winds to the Omaha metro area on Saturday. Residents should prepare for rapidly changing conditions, with gusts reaching up to 41 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, the system will begin early Saturday with rain showers before transitioning to snow by mid-morning. Accumulations are expected to be light, but blustery northwest winds could make travel hazardous, especially on major routes like I-29 and I-80.

Saturday’s high will struggle to reach 46°F, with temperatures dropping quickly by nightfall. Sunday brings drier conditions and sunshine, with a high near 57°F and calmer winds.

Looking ahead, Monday marks a warmup with highs reaching 77°F under mostly sunny skies. However, another system arrives Tuesday night, bringing a chance of rain and snow along with gusty winds up to 25 mph.

Residents should secure outdoor objects, prepare for slick roads, and monitor local weather updates. Travelers are advised to check conditions before heading out, especially Saturday morning.
