Davenport, Iowa – Scattered showers will continue across eastern Iowa and western Illinois through Thursday morning, keeping conditions cool before a significant warmup heads into the region this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, daytime highs today will range from 63°F in the north to around 70°F in the south, with a 30–50% chance of rain, primarily during the morning hours. Thursday will stay cooler, with highs in the low 70s before warmer, sunnier skies take over Friday and into next week.

Cities like Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, and Clinton can expect lingering damp conditions through midweek, with morning commutes possibly affected by wet roads. No severe storms are expected, but drivers should remain alert in areas of heavier showers.

By Friday, temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to low 80s, and by Sunday, many areas may top 85°F. Monday could bring the region’s first 90-degree day of the season.

Residents are encouraged to keep umbrellas handy through Thursday and check air conditioning systems ahead of the coming heat. Warmer, drier weather is expected to dominate heading into next week.
