Quad Cities, IA-IL – Rain is expected to return to the Quad Cities area starting Monday night, with several rounds of showers anticipated through Thursday, followed by a significant warm-up heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities Office, scattered showers will develop late Monday into early Tuesday, with additional rainfall likely Wednesday night through Thursday. Precipitation chances range from 20% to 60% during this period, with highs gradually climbing from the upper 40s on Tuesday to near 70 degrees by Thursday.

Temperatures will peak between 74 and 79 degrees on Friday, marking the start of a warm, spring-like stretch. The NWS warns that a strong storm system could move into the Midwest during the weekend, bringing increased storm activity and changing conditions.

Residents across eastern Iowa and western Illinois should monitor updates throughout the week. While widespread flooding is not anticipated, brief downpours could affect evening and morning commutes, particularly on Thursday.

Locals are encouraged to keep umbrellas handy, secure loose outdoor items before winds increase later this week, and remain alert to evolving weekend storm details. The upcoming warmth will be a stark contrast to recent chillier conditions, offering a taste of spring heading into the final week of March.
