Newton County, IN – A three-vehicle crash Friday at the intersection of US-41 and SR-14 led to multiple injuries and airlifts.

According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Thursday. Preliminary investigation indicates a white passenger vehicle, driven by a 21-year-old Indiana male with a 20-year-old female passenger, was turning north onto US-41 from west SR-14.

The vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck on the driver’s side by a red Dodge Ram driven by a 26-year-old New Jersey male. The collision caused both vehicles to cross the median into the southbound lanes of US-41, where the white passenger vehicle then struck a white SUV driven by a 45-year-old Wisconsin female.

Two individuals, from Indiana and Wisconsin, were airlifted from the scene, while the other two were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by various local emergency agencies, including Newton County EMA, EMS, and Volunteer Fire departments, along with Jasper County EMS and UCAN.
