Fort Wayne, Ind. – Northern Indiana families can expect a picture-perfect Mother’s Day with clear skies and temperatures ranging from the upper 60s near Lake Michigan to the upper 70s inland. Whether planning a morning brunch or an afternoon picnic, the weather looks ideal for outdoor celebrations.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, overnight lows will settle between 45 and 54 degrees Sunday morning before warming to daytime highs of 68 to 78 degrees. Cooler temperatures will linger along the lakeshore, but most inland cities—including Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Elkhart—will see highs pushing into the mid-to-upper 70s under mostly sunny skies.

By Monday, conditions will turn more unsettled. Highs are expected to climb between 75 and 80 degrees, but scattered showers and thunderstorms could develop by the afternoon and evening hours. Residents should prepare for the possibility of gusty winds and brief downpours, especially during the Monday evening commute.

Clear skies will hold through Sunday night, but those with outdoor plans Monday should stay weather-aware and keep mobile alerts on for any updates.
