Fort Wayne, IN – Rain showers are moving through Indiana today, but a shift to drier, sunnier conditions is on the way just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Those celebrating on Monday can expect clear skies and warmer temperatures, making for ideal spring-like weather.

According to the National Weather Service, showers are expected to continue through Sunday, tapering off by late evening. Temperatures will drop to a low of 26°F overnight as northwest winds pick up to 15 mph. However, Monday will bring a welcome change, with sunny skies and a high near 49°F. Winds will be calm in the morning before turning southerly at 5 mph in the afternoon.

The dry conditions will persist into Tuesday, with mostly sunny skies and a high reaching 66°F. However, clouds will increase Tuesday night, leading to a chance of showers by Wednesday. Rain is likely early Wednesday morning, with a possible mix of snow overnight as temperatures drop to 33°F.

Looking ahead, spring officially begins on Thursday, but Indiana could see lingering winter-like conditions. There is a chance of rain and snow early Thursday before clearing into a partly cloudy afternoon with highs near 41°F. By Friday, temperatures will rise again, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s.

Residents should take advantage of Monday’s sunshine before midweek showers return. Keep an eye on forecasts for potential rain and snow later in the week.
