According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will primarily affect areas north of I-70 overnight, with visibility reduced in heavier bursts. Temperatures will drop to 7°F, with wind chills as low as -7°F, creating hazardous conditions for drivers. Untreated surfaces, especially bridges and overpasses, may become slippery.
Wednesday will bring cold but calmer weather, with a high near 22°F and mostly sunny skies. However, wind chills will remain dangerously low, especially during early morning hours. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to use caution and dress warmly to prevent frostbite, which can occur within 30 minutes in these conditions.
Looking ahead, scattered flurries are possible late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with a slight chance of snow Thursday afternoon. Highs Thursday will reach 28°F before dropping to 13°F overnight.
By the weekend, temperatures will gradually rise, with highs near 38°F on Saturday and 36°F on Sunday. A 20-30% chance of snow is forecast both days, but no significant accumulation is expected.
