Fort Wayne, Indiana – Light rain drifting across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio will begin to taper Friday morning, but drivers and weekend travelers should prepare for more widespread showers developing late tonight into Sunday, especially in areas south of U.S. Route 24. Breezy conditions and cloud cover will keep high temperatures in the 50s, making for a damp and chilly weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, isolated afternoon rain remains possible Friday, mainly south of the US 24 corridor, including cities like Marion, Portland, and Van Wert. Rain becomes more organized after midnight, continuing through Sunday with the heaviest coverage expected during the daytime hours.

Daytime highs will hover between 57–62°F Friday, dropping to overnight lows of 42–46°F. Sunday’s highs will stay even cooler, between 53–58°F due to increased cloud cover and persistent rain. Winds may also pick up slightly on Sunday, adding to the raw feel.

Residents are encouraged to avoid outdoor activities during peak rain hours and use caution on wet roads, especially overnight. Keep electronics charged and check weather updates frequently as rain could impact early-week travel or events.

More updates are expected as rain spreads eastward; watches or advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
