Fort Wayne, IN – A stretch of warmer, wetter weather is expected to impact northern Indiana through Sunday, with rainfall totals reaching up to 1.35 inches in some areas and temperatures soaring into the 70s.

According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana, a warm front is moving northeast, bringing increased rain chances beginning Thursday night and continuing into the weekend. Rain probabilities peak Friday and Saturday, with cities like Fort Wayne, Elkhart, South Bend, and Warsaw seeing precipitation chances as high as 80% by Sunday.

Major highways, including I-69, I-80, and US-30, could experience reduced visibility and ponding on road surfaces. Total rainfall is forecast to be highest along a band stretching from La Porte to Lima, Ohio, with totals surpassing 1.25 inches in several counties.

Travelers are urged to monitor road conditions and slow down in rain-slicked areas. While no widespread flooding is expected, brief heavy downpours may create minor travel disruptions.

Daytime highs will climb to 65–75°F across northern Indiana through Sunday, about 10–15 degrees above seasonal averages. Residents should remain weather-aware, especially during Friday afternoon and Sunday morning, when rainfall intensity is expected to increase.
