According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, Halloween will see thunderstorms sweeping into the area with wind gusts reaching up to 30 mph. An isolated thunderstorm could become severe, adding risk for evening celebrations. Showers and storms are expected to begin late tonight, increasing in intensity Thursday with a high of 73°F. Thunderstorms are forecast through Thursday evening, with gusty south winds and periods of heavy rain.
Friday will provide a respite with sunny skies and a high of 60°F, though temperatures will dip to 38°F overnight, bringing a cooler start to the weekend. Saturday will stay mostly sunny with a high of 65°F, ideal for any rescheduled outdoor events, though clouds will gather again late that night. A 30 percent chance of showers is forecast for early Sunday, with rain likely continuing through the day as temperatures reach 72°F.
