Indianapolis, IN – Scattered storms are expected to move through Indiana overnight into Saturday, with the potential for severe weather, including damaging winds, large hail, and flooding. The storms are most likely to occur between 1 AM and 9 AM Saturday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The highest risk areas are located in central and southern Indiana, where storms could intensify with heavy rain and gusty winds. Flooding is expected to become a significant concern as the weekend progresses. Residents in the affected areas are urged to remain alert to rapidly changing conditions.

According to the NWS, a cold front is pushing through from the northwest, triggering a line of thunderstorms that could escalate into strong or severe conditions. While the main threats are large hail and damaging wind gusts, isolated flash flooding may also occur, particularly in low-lying or urban areas.

Residents should prepare by securing loose items outdoors, staying indoors during severe weather, and avoiding travel during heavy rain. Road conditions could deteriorate quickly with the possibility of localized flooding.
