Fort Wayne, Ind. – Rain-soaked roads and chilly evenings will dominate the weekend across northern Indiana, as a string of scattered showers and cooler-than-average temperatures settle in through Monday.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, a persistent weather pattern will bring rain chances ranging from 30% to 50% each day starting Friday, with daytime highs stuck in the upper 50s to mid-60s and overnight lows dipping into the low 40s. The wettest periods are likely Friday night through Saturday and again Sunday afternoon, affecting areas including South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Elkhart.

Motorists should remain alert for slick conditions, especially on rural roads and during early morning commutes when ground temperatures will be at their lowest. While no flooding is expected, occasional heavy showers may reduce visibility and slow travel on major routes such as I-69 and US-30.

Residents are encouraged to keep umbrellas handy, secure any outdoor items, and check local event updates, as rain could interrupt weekend plans. Cooler air and clouds will also limit daytime warmth, so layered clothing is advised.

The chance of rain tapers off by Tuesday, with clearer skies and warmer temperatures returning to the region. Updates will continue as new advisories are issued.
