Fort Wayne, Ind. – Rain is set to return across northern Indiana tonight, bringing a soggy end to the weekend and cooler-than-average temperatures through Monday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, cloud cover will thicken this evening, with rain developing overnight and continuing through Sunday. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are likely, especially during the day Sunday, with highs only reaching the low to mid-50s.

Cities from South Bend to Fort Wayne should prepare for wet roads, reduced visibility, and ponding on low-lying streets. Overnight lows tonight will dip to between 42°F and 46°F. On Monday, rain chances taper off but skies stay cloudy, with highs rebounding slightly into the low 60s.

Drivers are urged to use caution, especially during heavier downpours. Keep headlights on, avoid driving through standing water, and allow extra time for morning commutes. Those with outdoor weekend plans may want to reschedule or bring rain gear.

Rain is expected to clear by early Tuesday, but additional systems could follow later next week. Updates will continue from the National Weather Service as conditions develop.
