Fort Wayne, IN – Rain is expected to move into northeast Indiana today, bringing wet conditions and cooler temperatures before a sunnier weekend. Residents should prepare for light showers throughout the afternoon and evening, with brief breaks in precipitation overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 60% chance of rain today, mainly between noon and 4 p.m., with temperatures reaching a high of 49°F. Winds from the southeast at 5-10 mph will make for damp and breezy conditions. Overnight, temperatures will drop to 36°F, with a slight chance of lingering showers.

Thursday brings mostly cloudy skies and a continued chance of light rain after 1 p.m. Highs will reach 45°F, with gusty winds up to 25 mph. By Thursday night, northwest winds will pick up, reaching 20 mph, making for a cooler, breezy evening.

The weather improves Friday, with partly sunny skies and highs near 53°F. Winds will strengthen in the afternoon, gusting up to 30 mph. The weekend looks mostly dry, with highs in the mid-30s and sunshine expected both Saturday and Sunday.

Drivers along I-69 and local roads should remain cautious during wet periods today and tomorrow. Keep an umbrella handy, but expect improving conditions by the weekend.
