Fort Wayne, IN — A warm and dry weather pattern will persist across Northern Indiana through the weekend, with temperatures reaching highs in the mid-80s. This unseasonably warm weather is raising the risk of brush and field fires in the region. The National Weather Service has warned that low humidity levels and persistent dry conditions will increase fire hazards.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, the upper-level ridge responsible for the heat will continue to influence the weather, bringing daily highs between 81 and 87 degrees and overnight lows near 58 degrees. Conditions are expected to remain dry, and residents are advised to avoid outdoor burning to prevent fire outbreaks.

Tonight, stargazers in Northern Indiana will have a rare chance to witness a partial lunar eclipse starting at 8:41 PM EST. The eclipse will peak just after midnight, providing a striking view of the Harvest Supermoon. However, with clear skies expected, it’s crucial to take precautions against the warm, dry conditions, especially if viewing the eclipse outdoors.

The dry conditions will continue through Saturday, with little chance of rain until later in the weekend. Residents should remain cautious and monitor local fire conditions.
