Columbus, OH – Residents across the tri-state region are bracing for an unseasonably chilly night as a widespread Frost Advisory remains in effect through 9 a.m. EDT Thursday, with temperatures expected to dip into the mid to upper 30s.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the advisory covers central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio, as well as east central and southeast Indiana and parts of northern Kentucky. Communities such as Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Richmond, Maysville, and Portsmouth are all within the alert zone.
The forecasted chill is expected to result in frost formation, potentially damaging sensitive outdoor vegetation. Officials are urging homeowners, gardeners, and agricultural workers to cover plants or bring them indoors to prevent loss.
