Fort Wayne, IN – Snow is forecast to spread across areas south of Highway 24 tonight, bringing 2 to 5 inches of accumulation and dangerously cold conditions. The snow is expected to develop after sunset and taper off Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Drivers should exercise caution tonight, especially on untreated roads where snow and ice will accumulate quickly. The heaviest snowfall is expected south of Highway 24, where 90% of the area is forecast to receive measurable precipitation. Residents in these areas are advised to delay unnecessary travel until road crews can address conditions.

By Monday morning, snow will begin to taper off, leaving cloudy skies and highs in the mid-20s. Winds from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph will create wind chills in the teens, adding to the bitter cold.

Looking ahead, temperatures will remain well below freezing through Friday. Lake-effect snow is possible Wednesday, with highs dipping to the low 20s and overnight lows plunging to single digits. By Thursday and Friday, partly sunny skies will return, though temperatures will stay in the mid-20s during the day and teens overnight.
