Indianapolis, IN – Rain and plunging temperatures are set to dominate Indiana’s forecast this week, starting tonight. Rain will move in after 10 p.m. Sunday, with steady precipitation and temperatures dropping to 45 degrees by Monday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday will bring lingering rain through the morning, with a high near 53 degrees before a sharp temperature drop in the afternoon. By Monday night, lows will fall to 36 degrees as precipitation diminishes, setting the stage for a colder pattern.
Tuesday introduces a mix of rain and snow, particularly in the afternoon. Highs will reach only 44 degrees before temperatures fall to the low 20s overnight. Snow showers are possible Tuesday night into early Wednesday, especially along major corridors like I-70. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility and icy patches.
Wednesday’s highs will struggle to reach 30 degrees, with snow flurries likely during the day. Winds gusting up to 24 mph will make it feel even colder. Overnight lows will drop to a bitter 15 degrees.
Thursday offers brief relief with mostly sunny skies, but highs will remain below freezing at 26 degrees. Another chance of rain arrives Friday with slightly warmer conditions, peaking near 42 degrees.
Residents should monitor forecasts and prepare for rapidly changing weather this week, including icy roads and snow showers. Stock up on supplies, check your vehicle’s winter readiness, and stay updated through local advisories.
