St. Louis, IL – Thunderstorms and gusty winds return to the Illinois side of the St. Louis region Tuesday night, disrupting travel and midweek plans. Drivers on I-64 and I-55 should prepare for slick conditions and low visibility after sunset.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday night’s rain will begin after 7 p.m., with a 60% chance of showers increasing to 100% overnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph, especially along higher-elevation stretches of I-55 and I-70. Daytime Tuesday will remain mostly sunny, with a high near 62°F.

By Wednesday, heavy rain and thunderstorms will dominate the forecast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with scattered showers lingering into the evening. Temperatures will peak around 76°F before dropping Wednesday night to a low of 52°F. Commuters should monitor weather apps and allow extra time for travel.
