According to the National Weather Service, patchy drizzle and fog are expected today, with high temperatures nearing 49°F. The evening will bring thickening fog and continued drizzle, reducing visibility. Travelers are urged to drive cautiously, especially during overnight hours when visibility is poorest.

Friday will see steady rain, particularly by midday, with gusty southeast winds reaching 24 mph. Rainfall amounts could approach one-quarter inch in some areas, further complicating travel plans. Temperatures will peak around 51°F before dipping into the 40s overnight.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Central Illinois will remain under cloudy skies with intermittent rain. Saturday holds a 40% chance of rain with highs near 55°F. While Sunday will see highs around 51°F, the area remains at risk for more rain and lingering cloudy skies.

By Monday, rain is likely to continue, keeping conditions damp and temperatures in the mid-40s. Those planning travel are advised to monitor updates and allow extra time for potential delays.
