Pocatello, ID – A winter storm continues to impact southeastern Idaho, bringing moderate to heavy snowfall through early Tuesday morning. Several mountainous regions, including the Big Hole Mountains, Centennial Mountains, Teton Valley, Caribou Range, and Bear River Range, remain under a Winter Storm Warning until 5 AM MST Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pocatello, lower elevations could see an additional 1 to 4 inches of snow, while higher elevations may receive 4 to 10 inches. The Bear River Range is expected to experience some of the heaviest snowfall, with totals reaching up to 10 inches.
Travel conditions will be hazardous, particularly during the Monday evening commute. Drivers are urged to use caution, as snow-covered roads and reduced visibility could make travel difficult. Those traveling in affected areas should carry emergency supplies, including a flashlight, food, and water.
For updated road conditions, motorists can dial 511 or visit 511.idaho.gov. The storm is expected to taper off by early Tuesday, but lingering snowfall may still impact some areas.
