Boise, ID — Rain and strong winds are set to sweep across Boise starting Friday, bringing potential road hazards to the area. With heavy rain likely on Friday and gusts of up to 21 mph, residents should prepare for slick and challenging driving conditions, especially along I-84 and other main roads in the Boise area.

According to the National Weather Service, the rain will likely begin early Friday and persist into the evening, with a 40 percent chance during the day, rising to 90 percent by night. Saturday is expected to bring continued rain and a high of 49°F, with a significant 80 percent chance of precipitation. Local drivers should exercise caution, particularly when visibility may be reduced by the rain.

The rain is expected to ease slightly by Saturday night but could continue through Sunday, with a 30 percent chance of rain during the day and temperatures in the high 40s. Sunday night will see temperatures drop to around 28°F, bringing colder but clearer skies. As the weekend wraps up, Monday is expected to offer some relief, with a sunny forecast and highs reaching 47°F, though another chance of rain returns by Tuesday.

Residents should monitor local weather alerts and plan accordingly for possible delays and slower traffic. It’s also a good time to check emergency kits and ensure vehicles are ready for the wet and colder days ahead.
