Kirksville, MO – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday for parts of north-central and northeast Missouri, including Kirksville, Trenton, and Unionville. Freezing drizzle and light freezing rain are expected, creating potentially slippery conditions on roads and sidewalks.
According to the National Weather Service, ice accumulations will likely remain light, ranging from a glaze to a few hundredths of an inch. Freezing precipitation is forecast to begin late Friday afternoon or evening, with temperatures gradually rising overnight. By late Friday night, the precipitation is expected to transition to plain rain, reducing the risk of icy conditions.
Drivers should exercise caution, particularly during the Friday evening commute. For road updates, visit traveler.modot.org or call 511.
Stay alert and prepare for a few hours of potential icy conditions before the transition to rain.
