Philadelphia, PA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey until 10 a.m. Thursday as a wintry mix continues to create hazardous travel conditions. Freezing rain and sleet overnight have left roads icy, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

According to the National Weather Service, additional snow and sleet could add up to an inch of accumulation, with ice glazing untreated surfaces. Motorists should expect delays on major roadways, including I-95 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, as slick conditions could persist through the morning commute.

Thursday will see a brief warm-up, with highs reaching 42°F and rain tapering off by the afternoon. However, fog may develop overnight into Friday, causing additional visibility issues. Friday will be mostly sunny with a high of 42°F, but another winter system could bring snow Saturday night, followed by freezing rain before dawn Sunday.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, especially in the early morning hours. Those traveling this weekend should monitor weather updates as another round of icy precipitation is expected. For road conditions, call 511.
