Houston, TX – Gusty winds and cool conditions are kicking off the weekend in southeast Texas, with a chance of rain developing by early next week. Today’s high will hover near 60°F, with wind gusts up to 20 mph. Those headed outdoors should dress warmly and prepare for brisk conditions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect through the day due to elevated winds and rough seas along the Gulf Coast. Winds of 15-25 knots, gusting to 30 knots, are creating hazardous conditions for mariners. Small vessels are urged to avoid open waters until winds subside later tonight.

Looking ahead, Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies and a milder high near 63°F. Winds will calm, offering a pleasant day for outdoor activities or post-Black Friday shopping. Sunday continues the trend with sunshine and highs near 67°F, though cooler temperatures return at night with lows dipping to 44°F.

By Monday night, rain chances increase to 20%, rising to 40% on Tuesday as clouds build across the region. Rainfall could impact commutes or outdoor plans early in the workweek. Highs will remain cool in the low to mid-60s, with overnight lows in the 40s.

For those on the road or water, take precautions against windy conditions today. Stay updated on marine and weather alerts through the NWS.
