Houston, TX – Scattered showers and storms will continue to affect the greater Houston area through Friday, with rain chances diminishing heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston office, isolated to scattered showers are expected Thursday, with the best chances for stronger storms north of the metro area. Rainfall totals may reach up to 1.2 inches in areas like College Station and Crockett through Saturday morning, while lighter amounts under a quarter inch are forecast closer to the coast, including Galveston and Bay City.

By Saturday, conditions across Southeast Texas are expected to dry out, leading to a modest warming trend. High temperatures will rise from the low 80s on Thursday to upper 80s by Sunday and Monday. Livingston, Katy, and Brenham are forecast to reach highs near 89°F early next week.

Wet roads and gusty winds could briefly impact driving conditions during isolated storms, especially north of Houston. Minor localized flooding remains a low but possible risk in flood-prone areas.

Residents are advised to stay alert for brief showers through Friday evening and prepare for sunnier, warmer conditions starting Saturday. Drivers should use headlights during rain and maintain extra distance on wet roads.
