Charleston, WV — The remnants of Helene will pass over West Virginia tomorrow, bringing more showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Rainfall is expected across northern and eastern parts of the state, with a marginal risk of flooding.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Charleston, the rain will begin tonight, with a 60% chance of showers, particularly affecting northeastern Kentucky and southeastern Ohio. Temperatures will dip into the 50s in mountainous areas and hover around the 60s in the lowlands.

The flood risk intensifies on Sunday with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms across the region. Lowland areas could see temperatures in the 70s, while mountain regions remain cooler. The NWS warns of localized flooding, with northern and eastern counties under the greatest threat.

The NWS recommends residents in vulnerable areas monitor local updates and prepare for potential road closures or flash flooding. Sunday’s storm could create hazardous driving conditions and interrupt weekend plans across West Virginia.
