Louisville, KY – A rainy Halloween night is on the horizon for Louisville, with forecasters predicting heavy showers and potential thunderstorms Thursday evening, possibly disrupting trick-or-treating plans. Louisville residents should prepare for wet conditions starting late afternoon and continue through the evening as a cold front sweeps across Kentucky.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville, today is expected to be sunny and unseasonably warm, with highs reaching up to 82 degrees. Clouds will begin moving in by tonight, with temperatures dropping to a low around 67 degrees. By Thursday afternoon, widespread rain showers will develop, with an increased chance of thunderstorms by the evening. The NWS cautions that gusty winds, potentially reaching up to 28 mph, will accompany the storms, creating potentially hazardous conditions for outdoor activities.

Trick-or-treaters should plan for temperatures in the 60s and bring umbrellas or rain gear. The NWS warns that showers will continue into the night, with up to half an inch of rainfall expected. Rain should taper off early Friday, allowing for a sunny day with a high near 65 degrees, offering relief for those planning weekend activities.

Looking ahead, Friday night is predicted to be mostly clear with a low of 42 degrees. Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies, with a high of 69 degrees and mild evening temperatures around 50 degrees. Showers may return Sunday, though the chance of rain remains low at 20%.

Residents should stay updated on weather changes through local alerts and be cautious of slick roads Thursday night as visibility could be limited. Plan ahead and check conditions to ensure a safe Halloween.
