Las Vegas, NV – A low-pressure system descending from the Pacific Northwest is expected to bring gusty winds and showers to Las Vegas and nearby areas this Sunday. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas forecasts significant changes beginning Sunday evening, as strong north winds develop overnight.

According to the NWS, gusts may exceed 30 to 40 mph across parts of southern Nevada, particularly affecting areas around Las Vegas, Lincoln, and Mohave counties. Rain showers are anticipated with the highest probability in northern regions, including parts of Lincoln and Mohave counties, where rain chances exceed 50%.

Residents are advised to prepare for potential travel disruptions and to secure outdoor items that could be impacted by high winds. Motorists, especially those in high-profile vehicles, should be cautious due to crosswinds on highways, including Interstate 15.

The NWS expects conditions to improve by early Monday but urges residents to stay informed of weather updates. Travelers and locals are encouraged to monitor weather alerts throughout the weekend.
