Northern LaSalle County, IL – Daytime residential burglaries are on the rise in northern LaSalle County, especially in rural regions. Thieves are primarily targeting tools, lawn care equipment, and even a pickup truck in one case.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, these burglary incidents tend to occur in waves and may spread to other areas. The Sheriff’s Office has called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. “No one knows our community like you do,” they stated. Residents are encouraged to provide details such as license plates, vehicle descriptions, and the nature of any suspicious behavior to the non-emergency number 815-942-0336.

Community involvement is critical for ensuring safety, the Sheriff’s Office stressed. They advise capturing photos or videos of suspicious activity if it can be done safely but warn against taking unnecessary risks. “That’s our job,” the office reminded the public.
