Green Bay, WI – An Arctic front will sweep across Wisconsin today and Thursday, bringing light to heavy snow showers and sharp temperature drops. Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate, especially along highways like I-41, due to sudden visibility drops and gusty winds.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers today will produce light accumulations, generally under an inch, but some areas in northeast and east-central Wisconsin may see heavier bursts this afternoon and evening. Visibility could drop rapidly during these short snow bursts, lasting 15 to 30 minutes. Drivers are urged to slow down, keep headlights on, and exercise caution on untreated roads.

The forecast calls for falling temperatures, with highs near 26 degrees today but dropping into the single digits by Thursday morning. Wind chills are expected to reach -10 degrees to -20 degrees during the day Thursday, accompanied by brisk northwest winds of up to 30 mph.

Looking ahead, Friday will offer a reprieve with sunny skies and a high of 24 degrees, but snow is likely again Saturday, mixing with rain as temperatures rise to 37 degrees. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 40 degrees.

Residents should remain vigilant for sudden weather changes today and prepare for bitterly cold conditions tomorrow. Stay tuned to local updates for changing road conditions and additional weather advisories.
