Green Bay, Wisconsin – Heavy thunderstorms and strong wind gusts could jolt parts of northeast Wisconsin Saturday, but the bigger surprise may come Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a round of potentially strong to severe storms will push across the region Saturday afternoon, with large hail and gusty winds expected—especially along and south of Highway 29 and into the Fox Valley. These storms may rapidly intensify following a brief lull in morning rainfall.

By Sunday night, attention shifts north, where wintry precipitation is expected to move into northern Wisconsin. A rain-to-snow transition could create slick roads and limited visibility from late Sunday into Monday morning, particularly in counties like Florence, Forest, and Vilas. Temperatures will dip into the 30s Sunday night, with freezing conditions possible into Monday.

Travelers should prepare for icy stretches and poor visibility on rural roads, and residents should secure outdoor items ahead of gusty winds on Saturday.

Spotters are encouraged to report hail to the National Weather Service in Green Bay throughout the weekend.
