Green Bay, WI – A winter storm will bring heavy snow and dangerously cold wind chills to Wisconsin starting Friday, impacting Valentine’s Day travel and weekend plans.
According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected to begin Friday morning, with accumulations reaching up to 6 inches in some areas. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Manitowoc County, where lake-enhanced snowfall could push totals higher. Wind chills could drop as low as -20°F, increasing the risk of frostbite.
Saturday will see continued snow, with a 60% chance of accumulation and daytime highs near 29°F. Sunday brings a brief break with partly cloudy skies, but bitter cold remains, with highs near 16°F and wind chills plunging to -25°F Monday morning.
Drivers should prepare for slick roads, reduced visibility, and delays. Officials advise limiting outdoor exposure and dressing in layers to prevent frostbite.
Stay updated with local forecasts and prepare for shifting conditions. Another round of accumulating snow is possible early next week.
