Atlanta, GA – Frost is expected to blanket metro Atlanta early Saturday morning, followed by a chance of rain as the weekend progresses. Residents should prepare for near-freezing temperatures overnight and plan for wet conditions early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, widespread frost will develop overnight Friday, with temperatures dropping to a low of 24 degrees. Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 47, but another cold night is expected with temperatures dipping to 29. If you plan to travel, be cautious of frosty conditions on roadways early Saturday morning, particularly on I-85 and I-20.

Sunday offers milder weather with partly sunny skies and a high of 51 degrees. However, rain chances increase Sunday night, with a 50% likelihood of showers after 11 p.m. Rain may continue into Monday morning, making for a potentially slick commute. Monday’s high will reach 48 degrees, but showers are expected through the early afternoon hours.

The midweek outlook shows improvement, with Tuesday bringing partly sunny skies and highs near 58. A slight chance of rain returns late Tuesday night but is unlikely to disrupt plans.

To stay warm during frosty mornings, cover sensitive plants, bring pets indoors, and limit outdoor activities during peak cold hours. Drivers are urged to monitor forecasts closely and check road conditions before heading out.
