Atlanta, Georgia – Storms are set to roll into Atlanta Monday afternoon, with a 60% chance of rain and thunderstorms between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Travelers on I-20 and surface streets across Fulton and DeKalb counties should prepare for delays, reduced visibility, and possible power outages during the evening commute.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorm activity will increase after 5 p.m. Monday, continuing through the night with gusts up to 15 mph. Monday night’s precipitation chance is 70%, especially between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., followed by a lower chance of showers early Tuesday.

The unsettled pattern will linger through midweek, with scattered storms possible Tuesday and again Thursday afternoon. West winds will keep daytime highs in the mid-80s, but humidity and sporadic showers may make conditions feel muggy across the Atlanta metro.

Five-Day Weather Outlook (June 8–13):

  • Sunday (June 8): Showers and storms likely through 2 p.m. High near 84°F.
  • Monday (June 9): Thunderstorms between 2–8 p.m., chance of showers overnight. High near 85°F.

  • Wednesday (June 11): Mostly sunny, slight chance of afternoon storms. High climbs to 87°F.
  • Thursday (June 12): Afternoon and evening storms return, high near 89°F.
