ATLANTA, GA – Spring weather is taking a turn for the weekend as Atlanta braces for a mix of sunshine and storms starting Monday. While today and tomorrow promise mild and mostly sunny conditions, local residents should be prepared for possible rain and thunderstorms as early as Monday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Saturday’s forecast calls for pleasant spring weather with highs near 87°F and clear skies, ideal for outdoor activities. However, as we head into Monday, the forecast shifts. Expect partly cloudy skies on Sunday with temperatures reaching around 85°F. Monday brings a risk of thunderstorms with a 40% chance of thunderstorms developing, particularly in the afternoon.

Winds could gust up to 20 mph, and areas with heavy rainfall may see localized flooding. The NWS advises keeping an eye on weather updates if you plan to be outdoors during the weekend or if you’re traveling near the I-75 corridor.

The extended forecast reveals that Tuesday will offer a slight chance of thunderstorms with highs around 81°F, while the rest of the week is expected to stay mild. There’s a possibility of more rain on Wednesday, but temperatures will remain warm, with highs nearing 85°F.
