Atlanta, GA – Southern Georgia saw widespread snowfall from a winter storm, with totals reaching 8 inches in Mitchell County, according to data from Iowa State University. Camilla recorded the state’s highest total, while Dougherty County saw 7.5 inches near Putney.
Other areas, including Grady and Early counties, experienced accumulations between 7 and 7.3 inches. Reports indicated additional totals ranging from 4 to 7 inches across southwest Georgia, impacting travel and daily activities in the region.
Residents and emergency services are working to clear roads and ensure safety as the area adjusts to the uncommon winter weather.
