Peachtree City, GA – Georgia residents experienced unseasonably warm weather on the first day of fall. Sunday’s high temperatures reached the lower 90s to mid-90s across the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, temperatures outside the mountains reached as high as 95 degrees. Major cities like Atlanta and Athens saw highs around 94 degrees. The southern portion of the state, including areas like LaGrange and Columbus, also faced scorching conditions, with temperatures approaching 94 degrees.
Despite the official start of fall, the heatwave extended across much of Georgia. Peachtree City itself reported a high of 90 degrees, continuing the trend of above-average temperatures. The forecast shows a slight cooling in the upcoming days, with temperatures dropping into the 80s by Wednesday.
