Peachtree City, GA – Dry and windy conditions this weekend have prompted a Red Flag Warning across parts of Georgia, increasing the risk of wildfires through Sunday, March 2. Residents should avoid outdoor burning and stay alert as low humidity and gusty winds create dangerous fire weather.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), winds will reach 20-25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph, while humidity levels drop to below 25%. These conditions make it easier for fires to start and spread quickly. The warning covers much of north and central Georgia, including the Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forests.

Five-Day Forecast for Peachtree City and Surrounding Areas

  • Sunday, March 2: Sunny, highs near 63°F, gusty winds up to 35 mph. Fire danger remains high.
  • Monday, March 3: Mostly sunny, highs around 67°F, winds 10-15 mph.
  • Tuesday, March 4: Partly cloudy, highs 68°F, a chance of showers late.
  • Wednesday, March 5: Cloudy, scattered rain possible, highs 65°F.
  • Thursday, March 6: Rain likely, highs near 60°F, cooling trend begins.

Safety Tips

  • Avoid outdoor burning, grilling, or using fireworks.
  • Secure loose outdoor items as winds will be strong.
  • Stay updated with the NWS and local emergency alerts.

The Red Flag Warning remains in effect through Sunday evening. If you see smoke or flames, report them immediately to 911.
